2nd Circuit OKs Settlement For Holocaust Survivors

Law360 (June 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court approved a settlement between Holocaust survivors and their families and Italian insurer Assicurazioni Generali SpA less than a year after the same court nixed the deal over concerns that potential class members had not been sufficiently notified.

A two-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit issued a summary order upholding the district court's green light for the settlement and finding that the upward of 50,000 letters issued to possible class members constituted appropriate announcement.
