EU Unions Bash Temp Worker Rules' Opt-Out Provision

Law360, New York (June 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The 60-million-member European Trade Union Confederation hailed a European Union agreement on Tuesday to treat temporary workers as permanent employees from the first day of assignment but said stronger protections are needed to enforce the maximum 48-hour workweek.
