Despite Patent Attack, Schering Will Bring Yaz To U.S.

Law360 (March 28, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- German pharmaceutical company Schering AG will forge ahead with its U.S. launch of the oral contraceptive Yaz in spite of a patent infringement suit brought against the company this week by its U.K. competitor, Warner Chilcott PLC.

Warner Chilcott announced on Monday that it had filed the suit in U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

The U.K.-based company is accusing the German drugmaker of infringing a patent on its recently-approved Loestrin 24 Fe contraceptive by selling the oral contraceptive Yaz.
