2 More HCA Hospitals Added To Fla. PIP Coverage Class Suit

By Nathan Hale (October 20, 2014, 3:22 PM EDT) -- A putative class action pending in Florida federal court against HCA Holdings Inc. for alleged overcharging of patients' personal insurance protection at one of its Florida hospitals has been expanded to include two additional facilities in the state.

An amended complaint filed Oct. 15 adds Florida residents Nicholas Acosta and Penny Wollmen to the suit, bringing claims against Memorial Hospital Jacksonville and Gainesville's North Florida Regional Medical Center Inc., which are both owned by Nashville, Tennessee-based HCA.
