Law360, New York (March 29, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Polish government has been granted an extension by the European Commission's directorate general for competition, which has given Poland until next Monday respond to its latest letter concerning the country’s opposition to Unicredito Italiano SpA's plan to merge its Polish unit Bank Pekao with Polands' BPH.
A spokesperson for E.U. competition commissioner Neelie Kroes said that this week’s deadline was pushed back to Monday because the Polish government had asked for access to documents in the Commission’s file, according to AFX News.
