Brussels Snapshot: Covington & Burling

Law360, New York (March 30, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- International law firm Covington & Burling saw Brussels as a key location for competition practice earlier than many of its rivals and doesn’t fear the rapid changes in Europe that draw it closer to the United States’ “litigation nation.”

The Brussels office opened in 1990 with only one lawyer, recruited from rival Baker & McKenzie. At that time, the only other office handling antitrust matters was in Washington, D.C. and expanding to Brussels was a natural move, according to the firm.
