Vinson & Elkins Settles San Diego Suit For $4.35M

Law360, New York (June 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Vinson & Elkins LLP has agreed to pay $4.35 million to settle a lawsuit that accused the firm of professional negligence and breach of fiduciary duty during its 2004 investigation of San Diego's pension crisis.

In a settlement made public on Tuesday, the firm said it would settle allegations filed by the city of San Diego after a firm probe failed to turn up evidence of wrongdoing in relation to the city's $2 billion pension fund deficit.
