Amazon And Hachette Strike Deal On E-Book, Print Sales

Law360, New York (November 13, 2014, 3:21 PM EST) -- Inc. and Hachette Book Group have reached a new multiyear agreement for e-book and print sales in the U.S. after months of negotiations and antitrust accusations from authors, the companies said Thursday.

The agreement will take effect early next year and marks the end of nearly eight months of turmoil — which included antitrust allegations against Amazon from a book author trade group — that began when Hachette’s existing contract with the online retail giant expired in April.
