Court Affirms Rulings In Prison Phone Patent Suit

Law360, New York (June 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has upheld a lower court's dismissal of a suit that accused companies of infringing a cord-free telephone designed for prisons.

The appeals court ruled Wednesday against TIP Systems LLC. The company brought its appeal after the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas granted summary judgment to defendants Independent Technologies Inc. and Evercom Holdings Inc. in March 2007.
