Ex-Newspaper Executive Surrenders To Authorities

Law360 (April 4, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Louis Sito, a former Newsday executive and vice president at the Tribune Company, turned himself in to federal officials on Monday amid a fraud scandal that has ensnared Newsday and its sister Spanish-language paper Hoy, according to a Newsday report.

Sito’s surrender stems from an ongoing probe into the fraud scandal at parent company Tribune Co. regarding accusations that Hoy had its circulation artificially doubled and that Newsday’s circulation had been overstated by 100,000 copies, Newsday reported.
