Deals Rumor Mill: Oi, Fortum, Arbor Pharmaceuticals

By Benjamin Horney (December 4, 2014, 6:31 PM EST) -- Brazil's Oi SA is set to approve Altice SA's €7.4 billion ($9.24 billion) bid to buy the telecommunications company's Portuguese assets, Bloomberg reported Thursday. The deal was announced earlier this week, but was contingent on approval, which could be officially announced before Thursday turns to Friday, the report said. The companies on Sunday entered into exclusive talks to finalize Altice's offer to acquire PT Portugal SGPS SA. The offer includes a €500 million earnout payment based on PT Portugal's future revenues, and the assets being acquired by Altice comprise certain PT Portugal assets outside of Africa but exclude its Rio Forte debt securities, Oi treasury shares and PT Portugal financing vehicles....
