Judge Tosses Some AIG Counterclaims Against Starr

Law360, New York (June 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The judge overseeing the battle between Starr International Co. Inc. and American International Group Inc. has thrown out four of AIG's seven counterclaims in the suit, which concerns billions of dollars' worth of AIG shares Starr allegedly agreed to hold in trust to compensate AIG employees.

On Monday, U.S. District Judge Barbara S. Jones issued a 52-page order granting Starr's motion for summary judgment with respect to two counterclaims alleging breach of trust, one alleging unjust enrichment and one seeking a constructive trust.
