Shoreline Settles Suit Over Tour Boat Disaster

Law360, New York (June 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal court approved a settlement Monday between Shoreline Cruise Inc. and approximately 30 plaintiffs who claimed the boat operator was responsible for the fatal 2005 capsizing of a tour boat on Lake George, N.Y.

Judge Thomas J. MacAvoy of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York signed off on the stipulation of dismissal Monday, ending all claims and causes of action against Shoreline; Richard Paris, captain of the boat; and Quirks Marine Rentals, an affiliate of the tour operators.
