BP Blast Victims Ask High Court To Stay Plea Deal

Law360, New York (June 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Victims of a deadly 2005 explosion at BP Plc's Texas City, Texas, plant have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to delay a lower court decision on a plea agreement they say imposes too small a fine on the energy giant.

A dozen plaintiffs filed the request Thursday asking the nation's highest court to impose a 60-day stay in the proceedings so they can file a petition for writ of certiorari. The move comes about two weeks after the plaintiffs lost a similar bid in the U.S....
