Tropicana Fights Back Against Call For Trustee

Law360, New York (June 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bankrupt casino operator Tropicana Entertainment LLC is fighting a move by a group of noteholders to have a trustee appointed to the Chapter 11 case, saying it is unnecessary and that doing so would be a step backward.

In a motion filed Thursday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, Tropicana said that the evidence fell “far short of the need for a trustee under the clear and convincing evidence standard — or any standard.”
