Brussels Snapshot: Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer

Law360, New York (April 10, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After two mergers, international powerhouse Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer said it has soared to the top of the Brussels antitrust field and is poised to knock rival Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton off the competition law pedestal.

“Until the late 1990s, Cleary Gottlieb was viewed as the preeminent antitrust firm,” said Andrew Renshaw, the local practice group leader for the firm's antitrust, competition and trade practice (ACT) in Brussels.

“We have become the firm that dominates the marketplace together with Clearly Gottlieb,” Renshaw said.
