Architect Sues Over Copyright for House Blueprint

Law360, New York (July 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An award-winning architect has sued a developer in federal court in Philadelphia for copyright infringement over a house design.

The complaint, filed Monday by architecture firm McIntyre, Capron & Associates PC, alleges that developer CBS Properties LLC infringed on a registered copyright for the “Ashby Model,” a home design for which the firm grants exclusive limited licenses to developers.

This is around the tenth copyright infringement suit filed by the architects, said Ethan Halberstadt, lead attorney for McIntyre. The closed cases were settled amicably.
