Scruggs' Son Jailed For 14 Months In Bribery Case

Law360, New York (July 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- David Zachary Scruggs has followed in the footsteps of his infamous father again – this time to jail – after admitting his role in a plan to bribe a judge.

The son and law partner of anti-tobacco attorney Richard “Dickie” Scruggs was sentenced on Wednesday to 14 months in prison and fined $250,000 for failing to report the bribery attempt.

Scruggs, who pled guilty in March, was sentenced by the same judge who jailed his father last week for the maximum five years in prison....
