Miami-Dade Official Looks To P3 Route For New Courthouse

By Nathan Hale (January 20, 2015, 7:55 PM EST) -- Miami-Dade County will consider turning to the private sector for help in funding construction of a new county courthouse and jail under a new piece of legislation proposed after voters rejected a $393 million bond issue for the project.

Commissioner Juan C. Zapata put forward the measure that calls for a public-private partnership to create a new facility to replace the teetering current courthouse at 73 West Flagler St., which has fallen into obsolescence and decay.
