Reliant Wins Fourth Extension To File Plan

Law360, New York (July 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A month after Bankruptcy Judge Mary Walrath signed off on Reliant Energy's $500 million sale of its Channelview plant, she has granted the company its fourth extension to file a reorganization plan.

A subsidiary of the Texas-based company, Reliant Energy Channelview LP, filed for bankruptcy in August.

Walrath, of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, decided last week to extend Reliant's exclusivity period to file the plan to Aug. 19. The plan must be accepted by Oct. 20.
