Microsoft Subpoena To Novell Quashed

Law360, New York (April 18, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a development with ominous portent for Microsoft Corporation’s ongoing battles with European Commission antitrust regulators, a federal judge in Boston quashed Microsoft’s subpoena to Novell Inc. on Monday.

Attorneys for Microsoft had argued in opposition papers to Novell’s motion to quash the subpoena, which was filed on March 21, 2006, that the information sought was “essential to Microsoft's defense in a proceeding before the European Union Commission in which Microsoft faces fines of up to €2 million per day.”
