Texas Farm Bureau Wants Water Well Accommodation

Law360, New York (January 30, 2015, 6:11 PM EST) -- The Texas Farm Bureau said Thursday it supports a ranch owner’s attempt to get the city of Lubbock to “reasonably accommodate” the ranch in a dispute over whether the city can drill water wells to reach a severed groundwater estate.

In an amicus brief, the bureau said the case involves real property and water rights principles that will become increasingly important over the coming years, and that the court should take this opportunity to lay a proper foundation for the development of those principles.
