Rambus Slaps Nvidia With Infringement Suit

Law360, New York (July 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Technology licensing company Rambus Inc. is suing Nvidia Corp., alleging several of its products infringe Rambus' patents for memory controllers.

Rambus' suit, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Rambus alleges that Nvidia, which manufactures graphics processor technologies, infringed on 17 of Rambus' patents relating to memory and controller devices.

The allegedly infringing Nvidia products contain memory controllers for SDR, DDR, DDR2, DDR3, GDDR and GDDR3 SDRAM. They products include chip sets, graphics processors, media communications processors, multimedia applications processors...
