Rambus Gets Boost In DRAM Patent Battle

Law360, New York (July 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Rambus Inc. received a boost in its ongoing patent battle with a group of semiconductor makers when a federal judge issued an order denying the manufacturers’ requests for a judgment of noninfringement based on claim construction.

Judge Ronald M. Whyte of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California issued the ruling Thursday as part of a claims construction order for the Farmwald/Horowitz family of patents in Rambus' battle with Hynix Semiconductor Inc., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Nanya Technology Corp. and Micron Technology Inc....
