USPTO To Review Power Converter Patent

Law360 (April 19, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office will review a patent at the center of a protracted dispute between rival technology companies Monolithic Powers Systems, Inc. and O2 Micro International Ltd, Monolithic said Wednesday.

The review stems from a request made by Monolithic to the patent office to reexamine the patent--number 6,804,129--which deals with a power converter.

The California-based companies have tangled over patents before, and O2 Micro has been racking up court victories in recent years.
