Bill Would Eliminate Per-Country Employment Visa Caps

By Kelly Knaub (February 10, 2015, 8:31 PM EST) -- A Republican lawmaker from Idaho announced Tuesday that he is co-sponsoring a bill that he said would repair an important element of the nation's immigration system by increasing the number of visas available for high-skilled workers.

Rep. Raul Labrador, R-Idaho, said that the Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act, penned by Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, and also co-sponsored by Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., would eliminate arbitrary per-country caps for employment-based visas.
