Actavis Hit With Class Action Over Digitek

Law360, New York (July 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Actavis Totowa LLC and Mylan Inc. have been hit with a proposed class action by patients who took the prescription heart drug Digitek, which was recalled earlier this year.

The plaintiffs' suit, lodged on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court of Eastern Michigan, claims that contaminated and mislabeled medication caused side effects such as stroke, kidney damage and heart attack.

“The recalled Digitek was adulterated, misbranded and dangerously and improperly manufactured and unfit for human use and defendants knew or should have known this,” Tuesday's complaint...
