Disabled Legal Secretary Accuses Law Firm Of Bias

Law360, New York (July 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A former legal secretary at Armbrust & Brown LLP has sued the civil practice law firm, claiming she was discriminated against for her disability, denied medical leave and eventually fired in retaliation.

Susan Palmer's complaint, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, says she consistently received salary raises and positive evaluations until she was diagnosed with degenerative osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, the inflammation disorder bursitis, irritable bowel syndrome, gastritis and esophagitis, and began taking treatments and requesting medical leave....
