Editor Renews Bias Complaint Spurned By Jury

Law360, New York (July 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An Indiana newspaper editor is challenging a jury's verdict that the paper's publisher did not discriminate against her by promoting a black employee instead of her and allegedly retaliating against her after she complained.

Kimberley Steele filed a motion for a new trial July 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, only a couple of weeks after a seven-day trial ended in a jury's finding that she had failed to prove the Post-Tribune Co. discriminated against her based on race....
