Judge Denies Raytheon's Stay Bid In Fla. Toxin Case

Law360, New York (July 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A U.S. district judge in Florida has denied military contractor Raytheon Co.'s requests to delay two class actions alleging the company released toxins into the groundwater near its plants and hid the contamination from St. Petersburg, Fla., residents.

U.S. District Judge Richard Lazzara of the Middle District of Florida ruled Monday that a concurrent state investigation into the pollution wouldn't interfere with the class actions that are seeking damages from Raytheon.
