Builders Back High Court Row Over Fla. Ordinance Dispute
By Nathan Hale (March 2, 2015, 6:18 PM EST) -- The National Association of Homebuilders and similar business groups are supporting a property developer's U.S. Supreme Court petition seeking reversal of an Eleventh Circuit decision it claims wrongly tossed a successful protest of a Florida county ordinance and threatens parties' ability to bring similar constitutional challenges.
The seven organizations, which also include advocates for Realtors, small businesses and shopping centers, filed an amicus brief Feb. 19 on behalf of Hillcrest Property LLP in its case against Pasco County, Florida.
