Peer-To-Patent To Include Business Method Patents

Law360, New York (July 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Calling its Peer-To-Patent program a great success, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office said Wednesday that it will extend the pilot program's duration, as well as expanding the scope of patent applications and increasing the maximum number of patents in the program.

“The USPTO continues to support the Peer Review Pilot to help it fulfill its promise as a way to help get the best prior art expeditiously before the examiner,” said Jon Dudas, undersecretary of commerce for intellectual property and patent office director.
