Airlines' Joint Venture About To Take Off: Report

Law360, New York (July 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- British Airways Plc and American Airlines Corp. have reportedly struck a deal for a transcontinental joint venture, plan to seek antitrust immunity from U.S. regulators and hope to add Iberia LAE to the deal, too.

Under the partnership, first rumored to be in the works earlier this month, the trio would seek exemption from laws that restrict the extent to which they can cooperate and allow the airlines to coordinate their schedules and fares and share the revenue, the Financial Times reported Thursday.
