Barbie Maker Comes Out On Top In Dispute Over Bratz

Law360, New York (July 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal jury has reportedly found in favor of Barbie manufacturer Mattel Inc. in its dispute with manufacturer MGA Entertainment Inc. over the rights of the popular Bratz doll, whose inventor allegedly breached his exclusivity contract with Mattel.

The jury in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California found that Bratz doll's inventor Carter Bryant came up with his idea while he was under contract with Mattel, and that MGA aided and abetted his breach of contract, according to various news sources....
