H-1B Visa Program Comes Under Fire At Senate Hearing
Law360, New York (March 17, 2015, 7:30 PM EDT) -- The H-1B program for high-skilled foreign workers took a drubbing on Tuesday in a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, with Republican lawmakers claiming that companies use the program to secure cheaper employees, and is prone to abuse.
Committee Chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, a frequent critic of the H-1B visa program, began by stating that the program has strayed from its goal of simply boosting the American workforce, effectively setting the tone for the rest of the hearing.
