Class of Migrant Workers To Sue Tomato Grower

Law360, New York (July 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The grower of Santa Sweets grape tomatoes is facing a class action that could include as many as 3,000 seasonal workers from Latin America who allege the company bilked farmworkers out of their full wages.

On Friday, Judge Marcia Morales Howard of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida granted class certification for the suit brought by 177 farmworkers against Plant City, Fla.-based Ag-Mart Produce Inc.
