Monopoly Puts Pet Owners In Doghouse: Suit

Law360, New York (July 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- VDIC Inc. and LogicRad Inc. have been hit with a suit accusing them of abusing their alleged monopoly on Radiographic Digital Converters, which allow veterinarians to create digital images of X-rays that can be sent over the Internet for analysis.

PetRays LP and Horizon Radiology LLP filed the suit, which invokes the Sherman and Clayton acts, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas on Tuesday. Pet owners have to pay more for veterinary telemedicine services because of the defendants' misconduct, the plaintiffs...
