Fedders Fights Bid To Approve Suit Over Boy's Death

Law360, New York (July 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Fedders Corp. has asked a bankruptcy court to reject a motion that would allow a couple who claims a defective air conditioner caused a fire that killed their son to proceed with a liability suit against the company.

Tuesday, Fedders filed its opposition to Joseph and Gina Qualls' motion for relief from the automatic stay granted to Fedders under the bankruptcy code. The Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors also filed an objection to the Qualls' motion on Tuesday.
