Plea Bargain Alleges Payoffs From Milberg Weiss

Law360 (May 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A probe into allegations of kickbacks paid to lead plaintiffs by law firm Milberg Weiss Bershad Hynes & Lerach has yielded its first plea bargain, which has brought new charges to light of payment arrangements between the firm and several of its lead plaintiffs.

The plea bargain, reached between federal prosecutors and Howard Vogel, who had served as lead plaintiff in more than 40 class actions, does not directly name Milberg Weiss as the source of the kickbacks.
