ConAgra Peanut Butter Plaintiffs Denied Class Status

Law360, New York (July 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has refused to certify two different classes of plaintiffs in multidistrict litigation that accuses ConAgra Foods Inc. of selling salmonella-contaminated peanut butter.

On Tuesday, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia said that the plaintiffs' claims of unjust enrichment and personal injury were not suitable for class certification because they pose conflicting issues of law and have alternative means for resolution.
