American Airlines Flight Attendants' Case Nixed

Law360, New York (July 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has granted summary judgment to American Airlines and the Association of Professional Flight Attendants in a purported class action filed against them by flight attendants alleging they were deprived of benefits under a collective bargaining agreement.

On Tuesday, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York ruled that the plaintiffs could not proceed on their claims that the airline violated the Railway Labor Act and that the association violated its Constitution.
