Sen. Menendez Indicted On Corruption Charges

Law360, Washington (April 1, 2015, 4:27 PM EDT) -- U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., was indicted Wednesday by a New Jersey federal grand jury on bribery and fraud charges over allegations he had unlawfully assisted a political donor, the U.S. Department of Justice announced.

Menendez and Florida eye doctor Salomon Melgen, a prominent Democratic Party donor, were hit with 13 counts of conspiracy, Travel Act violations, bribery and honest services fraud, and Menendez was also hit with a charge of making false statements, based on allegations that the senator used the power of his office...
