Biofuel Co. Stiffed Out Of $1.5M In Stimulus Funds: Judge

Law360, New York (April 2, 2015, 2:17 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Treasury wrongly withheld $1.5 million worth of federal stimulus grants to the developers of two fuel cell plants in California that helped convert wastewater residue into electricity, a Court of Federal Claims judge ruled Tuesday.

Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the Treasury offered grants to developers of renewable energy projects in lieu of federal production or investment tax credits, known as Section 1603 grants.
