Mineral Owners Drop Fight Over Texas City Fracking Ban

Law360, Dallas (April 2, 2015, 6:40 PM EDT) -- Texas property owners challenging the city of Denton's moratoria on fracking told a Texas federal judge on Wednesday that they have agreed to drop the dispute after realizing their properties lie outside city limits.

Arsenal Minerals and Royalty, The Chandler Davis Trust and Nasa Energy Corp. sued Denton in September, alleging temporary drilling moratoria the city put in place before voters opted to ban fracking within city limits were, in effect, illegal takings.

But the plaintiffs have since realized their property isn’t covered by Denton's regulations...
