Malibu Ripped Over Case With 'No Evidence' Of Infringement

Law360, New York (April 2, 2015, 9:51 PM EDT) -- An Indiana man sued by prolifically litigious porn company Malibu Media LLC for copyright infringement after allegedly downloading one of its films accused the company Wednesday of “incredibly” continuing a lawsuit without any actual evidence of infringement.

The strongly-worded filing came in one of the thousands of lawsuits filed by Malibu against Internet users that allegedly download the company's porn videos on BitTorrent. Labeled a “copyright troll” by critics — which Malibu strongly denies — the company reportedly filed more than 1,300 copyright lawsuits between March 2013 and March 2014.
