Sen. Menendez Pleads Not Guilty To Corruption Charges

Law360, Jersey City (April 2, 2015, 4:03 PM EDT) -- U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., pled not guilty on Thursday to allegations that he committed bribery and fraud by illegally using his position to benefit a political donor who showered him with unreported gifts and campaign contributions.

Shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday, Menendez and Florida eye doctor Salomon Melgen, a prominent Democratic Party donor, formally denied the corruption charges during a first appearance and arraignment hearing before U.S. Judge William H. Walls in Newark federal court.
