National Semiconductor Sues LSI For Infringement

Law360, New York (July 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- National Semiconductor Corp. hit LSI Corp. and a subsidiary with a lawsuit Friday, accusing its rival chip makers of widely infringing two patents related to semiconductor processing.

The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, alleges that LSI and Agere Systems Inc. manufacture, import and sell a bevy of products that infringe the two patents.

The patents-in-suit are U.S. Patent Number 4,567,058, titled “A method for controlling lateral diffusion of silicon in a self-aligned TISI2 process” and U.S. Patent Number 5,239,440,...
