GOP Rep. Targets White House Salaries Over Immigration
By Vin Gurrieri (April 3, 2015, 5:04 PM EDT) -- Rep. Renee Ellmers, R-N.C., has introduced legislation that would curtail funds for certain White House salaries and expenses because of the president's purportedly unlawful immigration policies.
H.R. 1693, dubbed the White House Accountability Act of 2015, would rescind nonobligated amounts for White House salaries and expenses. The "findings" section of the bill, which was introduced March 26, stated that national security is the primary responsibility of the federal government and that the president has failed to fulfill his duty to enforce immigration law.
