Lawmakers Strike Deal On CPSC Overhaul Bill

Law360, New York (July 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A team of U.S. Congress members has settled on a final version of a sweeping measure to reform the Consumer Product Safety Commission that will pump more funds into the troubled agency and enforce tougher safety rules.

The bipartisan conference committee will present the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 for votes in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. Both chambers are expected to vote on the measure before going on recess on Friday.
