U.S., E.U. Stuck In Informal Talks Over Airline Subsidies

Law360, New York (May 4, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- While Boeing Co.’s Chief Executive Jim McNerney spoke of progress this week in the out-of-court dialogue between the United States and the European Union, which are currently sparring before the World Trade Organization over public aid to airline manufacturers, parties close to the dispute say talks of negotiations are, for now at least, just talk.

McNerney had told reporters in Paris: “I’m beginning to see signs that the two governments are increasing the pace of their dialogue, and I’m supportive of that.”
